With the continued escalation of COVID-19 (also known as the novel Coronavirus), the RentSimple team wants to express our deepest sympathy to those impacted by the changes to your work and home life during this time. While watching daily news reports, you might be questioning how COVID-19 is affecting us here in the Arlington-Alexandria-Ashburn area of the DMV.

Our owners and residents can rest assured that our team is here for you as we navigate the situation. From providing insight into how landlords can operate during this time to keeping you up to date about changes to our procedures, we're working hard to follow COVID-19 social distancing guidelines with minimal disruption to our services.

Current Operational Procedures

While we remain in compliance with state and local guidelines for COVID-19 social distancing, RentSimple is fully operational! Our team is set up to work remotely with the latest software and communication technology to ensure seamless service for our owners and residents. 

 

Office Hours

We are available during regular business hours to respond to requests. Those hours are Monday-Friday 9 am-5 pm. We're also available 24/7 for maintenance emergencies. 

Property Showings

RentSimple continues property marketing and leasing during this time through our Contactless Showing Technology platform and 3D Virtual Tours (where applicable). Our residents can also breathe easy knowing that we include a "No Marketing Disruption Guarantee" for our great people and great spaces, so we will never attempt to market a property to prospective renters at the end of your lease! This policy adheres to social distancing guidelines to keep you safer.

Response Times

RentSimple will continue to prioritize all requests on a case-by-case basis to make sure we can respond effectively to all maintenance issues while following COVID-19 protocols. Our estimated response times are:

  • Non-emergency: 7 Days
  • Emergency: ASAP.

Maintenance COVID-19 Protocols

To help protect our vendors, maintenance staff, and residents, we've added some additional protocols to help prioritize and perform work in or around your property. 

  • Before entering your home for any reason, a representative from our office will call you.
  • They'll ask a few simple questions to determine if our team members can safely be in contact with your home.
  • This new measure primarily applies to maintenance service requests. 

Your honest and complete answers will help keep all of our associates safe at work, as well as protect your community. If we determine that our service team cannot enter your home, we'll coordinate alternative resources and partners to help complete emergency service requests on a case-by-case basis.

For Medical Assistance

If you need medical assistance, make sure to follow your healthcare provider's COVID-19 protocols to protect yourself and others from contact exposure. Our first responders are working hard to serve us during these times: let's work together to protect them and our community!

For emergencies, call 911. Answer all questions from the dispatcher to help them provide the assistance you need and protect first responders.

Rental Payments

We understand that this could be a difficult financial time for many owners and residents. At this time, we are not suspending rental payments or evictions. We also know that many of our property owners are not covered by mortgage relief via the CARES Act. We hope the following resources can help with rental assistance if you need financial help.
